Before hiring a contractor make sure they have a valid MHIC License, Liability Insurance, Workers Compensation, and the proper training!   Every contractor that does even a simple repair, like tightening a nail or sealing a deck, on a residential property is required by Maryland law to have home a Home Improvement License.  (Our License number is MHIC #65039)  Using a contractor with an MHIC license provides you some protection from the State of Maryland.
